Keeping AJC Secure: Madoff Fraud Fallout

AJC has received many queries from members and supporters about the repercussions of the Bernard Madoff scandal, which has caused such pain and hardship for so many. Thankfully, AJC had no direct involvement with Madoff and his firm. In fact, AJC’s Investment Committee rejected any investments with him. Meanwhile, an AJC affiliate, Thanks to Scandinavia, which has its own investment policy, was hurt. It had about $1.5 million, or one-quarter, of its assets with Madoff.

Now is the time to show your faith in AJC and to help secure our future.  DONATE HERE.

In the beginning of August, Judy Marx travelled to Israel for a weeklong trip with members of Atlanta's Civic Leadership.  Here the participants are pictured at Independence Hall where Israel's Declaration of Independence was signed on May 14, 1948.  The trip is arranged by Project Interchange, an AJC initiative.

Project Interchange Participants:
Top Row: (l. to r.) Jere Wood (Mayor of Roswell), Pat Gardner (GA State Rep.), Dennis Creech (Executive Director of Southface Energy Institute) and Jerry Gonzalez (Executive Director of GALEO)
Front Row: (l. to r.) Doug Shipman (Executive Director, Center for Civil and Human Rights), Teri Simmons (Partner, Arnall Golden Gregory), Camille Love (Director of Cultural Affairs, City of Atlanta) and Renee Glover (CEO, Atlanta Housing Authority).
