Judy Marx/ Executive Director

Judy became the Executive Director of the American Jewish Committee’s Atlanta Chapter in 2006, after seven years as Associate Director.  She is also the Founding Director of AJC’s award-winning Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, which has been one of Atlanta's most significant cultural events since 2000. 

Judy is a member of the 2001 Class of Leadership Atlanta, a 2002 American Marshall Memorial Fellow; and in 1999 was appointed by then Governor Barnes to the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust. 

She sits on the board of the Faith Alliance of Metro Atlanta, serves as Treasurer on the Board of Trustees of Jac!-Jewish Arts and Culture, participated in the Atlanta Regional Assembly on Faith and Public Life and led an interfaith trip of Christians, Muslims and Jews through the World Pilgrims program.

In addition, Judy has been a teacher of Jewish ethics and theology for the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta since 2001.

Judy graduated from George Washington University and has also studied at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

   

Itai D. Tsur/ Assistant Director

Itai  was born in Israel but grew up primarily in Austin, Texas.  After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, Itai served in a combat unit with the Israel Defense Forces Armored Corps, which included a tour of duty in Southern Lebanon.  Itai graduated from Emory University School of Law in 2002, where he was on Moot Court Special Teams and was a co-recipient of the Dean's Public Service Award.  Itai practiced law at firms in New York City and Atlanta for seven years.  He is also a trained mediator.

Itai brings a unique perspective to his role as Assistant Director of AJC Atlanta.  A dual American-Israeli citizen with active ties to Israel, he understands the issues and concerns facing both American and Israeli Jews.  His background as a lawyer and mediator is an asset to AJC's mission of building bridges of understanding and fostering productive dialogue between various communities.  

Itai is married to Eden Doniger, a practicing attorney and writer in Atlanta.  They have two daughters.

Kenny Blank/ Executive Director

Kenny has spent over 10 years working as a broadcast journalist and communications specialist.  Most   recently, he has served as an executive producer for WXIA-TV, the NBC affiliate in Atlanta, Georgia.  During his tenure there, Kenny brought tremendous ratings growth to the early morning newscast, “11Alive News Today,”  receiving an Emmy award for managing breaking news coverage.  Previously, Kenny was a producer with WSAV-TV, the NBC affiliate in Savannah, where he won an Associated Press award for special coverage of the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games.

During the early 1990s, Kenny served as a communications specialist for two Atlanta mayors, Maynard Jackson and Bill Campbell.  In 1992, Kenny received his Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees from New York University in both Journalism and Mass Communication (College of Arts and Science); and Film and Television (Tisch School of the Arts).  Kenny has a personal passion for theater and film, and is an active supporter of the arts.  He currently serves as Executive Director of the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival and holds board positions with the Woodruff Arts Center; Alliance Theatre; and Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund.

Both he and his wife, Nancy, are actively involved in the philanthropic work of The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation.   They are the parents of two children.
