Throughout the year, AJC Atlanta pays tribute to those who have made significant contributions to the The following three awards provide for the main events at which we pay tribute to our honorees: The National Human Relations Award is presented annually to leaders and corporations in our community who, with their skills, influence, and dedication, distinguish themselves through their professional achievements and their commitment to good works.

The Judge Learned Hand Award is the highest honor American Jewish Committee bestows on members of the legal profession. Established in memory of a legendary figure, Judge Learned Hand, Senior Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit from 1924 to 1951. Widely admired as a dean among American jurists, Judge Hand was famous for the extensive range of decisions he rendered in more than two thousand cases. Past Recipients Include:
This award was established by the Atlanta Chapter of American Jewish Committee, in 1986, in memory of Caroline Massell Selig and Simon S. Selig Jr. and is presented each spring at the Atlanta Chapter Awards Dinner. Sept. 2009 - AJC presented its Judge Learned Hand Award to Richard Sinkfield. May, 2009 - On May 13th, we presented Cathy Selig Kuranoff with our Selig Distinguished Service Award at the Atlanta Chapter Awards Dinner. Click Hereto see photos from the evening. November, 2008 - We honored Tom Bell, Chairman and CEO of Cousins Properties, Inc., with our National Human Relations Award. Tom Bell was recognized for his outstanding leadership in Atlanta. June, 2008- On June 11th, we celebrated the outstanding career of Ralph B. Levy, partner at King & Spalding with the Judge Learned Hand Award at the annual luncheon. To view photos of the luncheon, click here. May, 2008 - On May 21st, we presented David Kuniansky with our Selig Distinguished Service Award at the Atlanta Chapter Awards Dinner. November, 2007 - We honored Phil Kent, Chairman and CEO of Turner Broadcasting Systems, Inc., with our National Human Relations Award. Phil Kent and Turner were awarded in honor of their incredible work in the 2006-2007- We honored Phil Humann and SunTrust Bank with our National Human Relations Award, presented the Selig Distinguished Service Award to Carol Z. Cooper, Laura Dinerman, Sara Franco and Judy Zaban and awarded Chilton Varner, partner at King & Spalding LLP with the Judge Learned Hand Award. .
