2003 in Review: 

   In 2003, AJC’s Israel and International Affairs committee was very active highlighted by their co-sponsorship of a three day “Community Conference on Israel, U.S., and Europe” at Emory University. Sherry Frank, Executive Director of the Atlanta chapter also spoke at the Central Presbyterian Church about Israel and the Peace Process and at a Yom HaZikaron service. AJC’s Indo-Jewish Dialogue held an Indian-Jewish dinner and dialogue on the topic “Israel and India: A Growing Relationship”.           

   In addition to AJC’s international activities, 2003 was an active year for The Atlanta Black-Jewish Coalition, a coalition founded by Congressman John Lewis and Cecil Alexander. They sponsored an event at the Atlanta City Hall honoring former Atlanta Mayor Maynard Jackson, held a social Mix ‘N Mingle event at a local bar and the Black/Jewish Women’s group held a Holiday dinner.   They also hosted the “Marvin C. Goldstein Project Understanding Young Leadership Retreat” that brought together 36 Black and Jewish young professional leaders.
