2002 in Review:
In 2002, AJC was very involved with Israel and International Affairs. The Atlanta Chapter hosted a three part luncheon series discussing “Challenges Facing Israel”, “Israel and U.S. Policy” and “Al Jazeera and the world of International Communications”. AJC also hosted a reception for the new Mexican Consul General, Remedios Gomez-Arnau and helped create the South Africa exhibit in Atlanta. 2002 ended with AJC hosting a luncheon featuring Ken Stein discussing Israel and Iraq.
ACCESS, the young adult division of AJC, had a productive year in 2002. They hosted a night at the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival and helped out with the film festival as a whole. Members of ACCESS volunteered on MLK Jr. Day, participated in a City Wide Shabbat at chapter members’ homes and hosted a reception before the AJC held the Mayoral Forum. As the young adult division of AJC, ACCESS members continue to develop into the future leaders of AJC.
