2005 in Review:
The Atlanta chapter of AJC strengthened their relationships with the Indian, Black and Latino communities through programs designed to learn about the importance of pluralism. They also travelled to Israel with Jewish, Christian and Muslim clergy on World Pilgrims Pilgrimage. As founding members of the Faith Alliance of Metro Atlanta (FAMA), AJC was involved with a new project entitled “Faith, Feminism, and Philanthropy”.
Throughout the year, AJC promoted Israeli affairs through community forums, lectures, and meetings with diplomats in the Atlanta and co-sponsored “Peach Politics”: a Jewish Day at the Georgia State Capital for chapter members to meet with their elected officials. AJC’s largest project, the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, was their biggest success of 2005 with over 4,000 attendees.
